Press release no. 171/12

This fourth edition had a considerable flow of visitors, doubling exhibitors and exhibition area, significantly increasing the number of international companies present and, therefore, strengthening its leading role - also at international level.

Robotica 2012, the only Italian trade fair event in the field of humanoid and service robots, which took place from 7 to 9 November at fieramilano, Rho, was visited by 6,300 operators, who determined the important success of this fast growing event.

The fourth edition of Robotica had 66 exhibitors, 56 of which Italian and 10 international. Compared to the 2011 edition, the number of exhibitors more than doubled, while the number of international companies increased by as much as 150%, exceeding 15% of the total number (9.7% in 2011). As per European Community rules, Robotica can therefore now be called an international fair. Countries represented were United Kingdom, France, Japan, Russia, Switzerland and Poland. This year, the total exhibition area of the event was 4,400 square metres, more than double that of last year.

The conference sessions, which attracted considerable interest, were attended by 520 operators, who provided important ideas to think about with regards to the development of the world of robots and, consequently, on how our future will be.

Robotica 2012 was an important part of Robotica Week, which, for the entire week, and even before the beginning of the trade fair, turned Milan into the capital of robotics with diverse events dedicated to the industry, culture, and with theme evening that involved the entire city in many different ways.

Robotica 2012 also attracted the attention of the media: coverage of the event, for example, was given by the main TV channels (with reportages broadcast by Tg5, Tg1 Economia, Unomattina Rai, Tgr Rai Lombardia, Tg3 Rai Pixel, La7d), radio stations (Radio 24), press agencies (Ansa, Adn Kronos, Tm News), daily newspapers (la Repubblica, il Sole 24 Ore, il Giornale), websites (, Repubblica,it,,, LiberoQuotidiano,it, Unità.it,,,,, local newspapers (Il Tirreno, la Provincia di Como, Pisa Informa, Bologna Today, Palermo Today, Torino Scienza and many more).

"We are really pleased with this fourth edition of Robotica, which has further strengthened its role as reference point not only at national level, but also internationally, enabling it to become one of the three main fairs of the sectors in Europe, together with those taking place in France and Germany," said Marco Pinetti, president of Artenergy Publishing, the company organizing the event. "In the next few years, we are sure that the event will continue to grow hand in hand with this highly innovative sector, and will combine, even more, research, technological innovation, industrial production and scientific culture."

The next edition of Robotica will take place from 13 to 15 November 2013, once again at fieramilano, Rho.
